ABOUT AHJA

The Alaska Hunter Jumper Association, Inc. (AHJA) is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization run completely by volunteer members.

For the past 42 years AHJA has put on a summer horse show that offers hunter, jumper, equitation and novice classes.  Riders of all ages and experience come throughout the state of Alaska - and even from Canada - to participate.  Without a doubt, AHJA puts on a beautiful and exciting show.

A show with a purpose.

Each year, AHJA selects another local, worthy non-profit organization to sponsor with the show.  All proceeds above the show expenses are donated to the organization AHJA has selected for that year.  This is made possible only through generous donations by friends, families and local businesses. With the support of the Alaskan community and the help of our equine partners, AHJA is literally taking strides and leaping obstacles to fight homelessness, abuse, hunger, and many other issues that touch our own lives as well as the lives of our family, friends and neighbors.  With your help AHJA has raised thousands of dollars for charities like The Stone Soup Group, AWAIC (Abused Women’s Aid In Crisis), the Salvation Army’s McKinnell House, The Eva Foundation, and Facing Foster Care in Alaska, etc.

Our 2019 show will benefit Beacon HIll.

The AHJA Mission

  • To promote, encourage, and support equine sports and activities for Alaska horses and riders

  • To encourage sportsmanship in equine competition

  • And to promote the humane treatment of horse

It’s our goal to accomplish that mission each year through meaningful support and involvement of our local community.
